【 開催の趣旨 】
この大会は、21世紀の現代においても絶えない戦争、暴力、略奪などの非人道的な行いを抑止することを目的としています。踊りを通じて親しく交わり、理屈のない温かな世界へ誘うために行われます。
また、盆踊りを「先祖を敬い感謝し、亡くなった者と生きている者が共生する日本の伝統的な行事」と定義し、人種や立場を超えて共にステップを踏むことを呼びかけています。

World Bon Odori Festival to Be Held on September 28, 2026
A Global Dance Event Calling for Peace, Mutual Understanding, and Respect for Ancestors
Osaka, Japan — The Musicians & Artists Association for World Peace (M.A.P.) announced that it will host the World Simultaneous Bon Odori Festival on September 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM (JST). Participants across the globe will join in synchronized Bon Odori dancing, connected through the Internet, to promote peace and human connection beyond borders.
The domestic main venue will be the Senri Tenjin Shrine grounds in Toyonaka City, Osaka, while overseas participants will gather at locations designated by each country’s Bon Odori Organizing Committee.
Purpose of the Event
The festival aims to counter the ongoing realities of war, violence, and inhumane acts that persist even in the 21st century. Through the universal language of dance, the event seeks to foster warm, nonverbal bonds among people worldwide.
“Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese event in which we honor and give thanks to our ancestors, allowing the living and the departed to coexist. By dancing together across nations, we invite people of all backgrounds to share steps of harmony and mutual respect,” the organizers stated.
